About us

Our story

His Loving Arms started with a prayer and a promise: no one in this county should feel invisible, unheard, or left out.

A modest white house with a welcoming porch and live oaks in a small Texas town at golden hour.

Founded September 3, 2025

Love that knows how to listen

We care for people in need, caregivers, and families. We do that with services, training, and community programs. Here is the simple truth: being alone can feel heavier than the to-do list. People need help, yes. They also need to be treated like their story still belongs to them.

Faith, here, is not a speech. It is how we listen. It is how we keep a secret. It is how we stand beside someone when the room gets quiet. We are young. We are growing. We are just getting started. Where Care Meets Compassion.

Meet our founder

Hattishia Johnican, Founder & Executive Director of His Loving Arms Foundation

Founder & Executive Director

Hattishia Johnican

Hattishia Johnican holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Relations and Business. That is how she leads: people first, programs second. She is a mother, a wife, a daughter, and a friend. She has spent more than twenty years taking care of other people — the long days, the hard nights, and the mistakes that teach you what a class cannot. Those years are why His Loving Arms exists. She lives here. She would not let families in Sweeny, Texas walk through hard times as if their voices did not count.

I have spent more than twenty years taking care of other people. I made a lot of mistakes. I learned this: people need to be heard. Every voice is important. Every voice is different.

That lesson is how we work. As founder and executive director, she leads with warmth, honesty, and a practical faith — the kind that answers the phone, does not rush your story, and walks the road with you.

Our vision

Together, we don't just serve — we rise.

We want a Brazoria County where every caregiver gets support before they burn out, every senior is treated with respect, and every person with a disability has someone in their corner.
